Yesterday I finally found a bike to renovate for SWMBO (will start a build thread soon), and while I have most of the parts and ideas I need, I'm a bit stuck for what type of bars and brake levers to use. I don't want drops or a straight bar, so something swept back... But what type, and what sort of brake levers to use? The bike will have a single chainring and 7 speed cassette, with an mtb type shifter on the bars.
So any ideas, pics of other setups, recommendations, are all welcome!

Thanks!

Re:

Mrs Nrrds old Raleigh (531c - but she uses it as a town bike, it is a step through) has Nitto moustache bars upturned, with a Shimano 7 speed MTB thumb shifter and reverse action / timetrial brake levers. Grips are 1/2 a length of handlebar tape at the end of the bars.

Works a treat. The MTB thumb shifter sits on top of the handlebars and the band was flexible (and started straight). It just needed a longer bolt to fit the 23mm diameter of the moustache bars.

The reverse action levers also work well. Had to adjust the reach a bit for her small hands.

Might have time for a piccy this weekend.

Lauterwasser. Some might say that you'll also need to add a frappaccino holder and beard rest; ignore them- lauts are still cool. Mtb lever compatible too, if memory serves.
