swap a DR350 for a Bandit? got the replacement!

thanks to Gary at GA cycles, never looking at a motorbike with out him ever again!!

spotted the cracks within 2 seconds of seeing the bike.

but i have already been in touch with someone else who's selling a bike and it looks loads better condition aswel, seeing it in the next day or so.

and this time i'll have money in my pocket so i'm in a better buying position aswel.

Money in hand is always the way to go, and even if you are an experienced mech having a second set of eyes on anything is always wise, we tend to get rose tinted goggle eyes when we are wanting a new toy! Most of the car trading I have done was mainly with two people, one a mechanic turned dealer owner passing his trade ins off through me and the other a professional auction buyer I bought one or two cars from and ended up mates.

Bikes is different, it is usually me a couple of pals, one happens to bike mech as a living but we are all just bike nuts so it is not unusual for three of us to turn up on a seller's door, and that is fairly intimidating I suppose but we are able to do a lot more scrutinising and such far faster, it usually ends in a sale cause we are looking at unusual bikes.

So now you have cash in hand, are you still set on a Bandit, or will you throw your net further?

Monster, Monster, Monster, lots of old but low miles examples around. Monster, Monster, Monster!

never liked monsters, i always thought they didn't live up to the name. i used to have a cagiva raptor and i thought that was what the monster should have been. it just looked more . . . well harder.

here's a pic of the my old raptor.

i loved that bike, it got sold coz i had a big credit card bill but i would have hurt myself on it, i went too big too soon, 9 months after my test a 1000cc bike that did 90mph in 2nd gear was not the way to go, i would have gone through the purley gates backwards in a ball of flames!!

my ex sister in law was a cop but also a biker, went out with her one day, i overtook her at 145mph on a dual carriage way (that was empty) she crapped herself! she was on a vfr400, she thought mine was a 650, she was wrong!

:D

things are looking up, been to see another Bandit,

this guy bought this one from a dealer 12 months ago, for £1500, including the rear hugger and undertray and sports exhaust (aswel as original), he has changed 3 months ago to a 1200 bandit (he's keeping up with his mate!) he's been trying to sell it but the MOT has lapsed, he's putting it through on saturday and if it passes no problems i'll probably have it, he was after 1000 with no mot so if it passes i'd go to 1150, he paid a little over the top at 1500 really, and he knows it. :D AND THE MAJOR BONUS IS THE FRAME ISN'T CRACKED!!!

here's a pic

Looks well clean, and my favourite colour for a naked. Hope it swings your way. Just as I am putting bikes at the back of my mind thanks to our weather! :)
