Suspension Forks for Alpinestars

1 1/4" steerers are quite common ,especially for manitou forks

a nice set of rs1's would look the part on it

I take it the whole of the existing headset comes out, the reducers go in, top and bottom, then an 1-1/8" headset bearing is fitted???? :?

Yep, that's how it works. Did the same with my old Aluminium Elite and it worked well.

Just to be awkward, I'm fitting a 1 1/4" Aheadset and Manitou 2's with an alloy steerer, and an A-TAC stem with Hyperlite bar to my cro-mega...

Thanks for the help guys, its good to know I have a few options! As I might want to change from stiff to a bit of give in the future??

Hi skinwhistle , I was very fortunate to stumble across my 1/1"4 manitou 3 with a threaded stearer, ill keep ya posted on how i get on with mine as mine have been converted to springs!! hopefully fingers crossed the bike will be built in the next week or two, good luck with your dilema!!

Fitted my 92 cromega dx with Rockshox Quadras when they first came out BITD, cost me £200 and I thought they were the bee's knee's, in the cold light of day some 20 years later I have to admit they were pretty rubbish!!!!!!
