I have had a “few” Karate Monkeys. The only 1 I have left is now my fixed gear, winter, tow path bike…It’s a lovely all day bike..

I love the sign 'soft mud' - I must say that most of the mud I come across is ... soft. And often up my back....

...just bought a Karate Monkey - and interesting that all the reviews say 'this is a heavy frame but rides like one which is much lighter....'

And I picked ut up from Lewes last weekend. It is indeed a heavy thing, compared to a Roadrat etc (an extra half kilo for the frameset at least). So when I build it up (ss or 8 speed) I bloody hope that it does 'ride light' - it certainly will ride STRONG. Beautifully built frame.

My KM is heavy and I can feel that on tarmac but offroad its smoother than any of my lighter frames, mine is '13 KM and it has a nice flex in the BB which makes it buttery smooth over rooty and rocky singletrack, while still feeling bombproof solid. It definitely rides lighter than it is offroad.
