Yes the are in pretty good condition, I bought a near original 1994 Kilauea last year which the guy had owned since new. Based on the bike having its original chain and cassette fitted I don't think it's seen a huge amount of riding throughout it's life. The photos actually make the slight corrosion on the top of the tension adjusters look worse than it does in the flesh. The rubbers on the thumb leavers are also in pretty good nick, and there's no lumps missing out of them from crashes in the past! Just a few rub marks on the very ends from either use or storage I guess
The right shifter is lovely and clicky both ways, the left just click as you shift up, its friction only on return. I'm assuming that this is normal for the left shifter as Shimano thumbies are just friction shift on the left.
I don't know how much they are worth other than a quick ebay search on sold items. So how would £35 posted by my hermes sound?
I've got to be good and say there's nothing I'm after as a swap as I've got far too much stuff already, that said if you happen to have a set of XT Thumbies going spare I could be interspersed.
