Tried some skin walls on it earlier which were mounted on another of my projects wheels.....
Kinda like it...
Reminds me of an early Charge Cooker in this guise...

I’ll think about swapping them over...

Probably a marmite with some but I kinda think it too and even looks better in flesh...

Got me some XT shifters to fit to it to compliment the whole XT groupset...

Just messing about again with fork options..

Recently acquired these period SID’s which seem to really suit the geometry better than the Bombers as they are much shorter travel.

Fitted this morning and few quick snaps to see what you all recon...

This feels and looks like a proper XC race bike now but I do still like it rigid looking...

Oh, and I fitted the black wall tyres again too for risk of too much colour?

But have chucked on a front wheel with with the amber walls for comparison...

Oh, what u can’t see in these pics as the decal on the top tube is blue along the top but you can only see the red sides in pics....

IMO you are messing with perfection. It looked perfect rigid with black tyres, my subjective opinion of course.

Classy build originally, I'd leave it as it was.
