Dirt Disciple
Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, although i have been lurking in the shadows for quite a while, I'm not sure if i've got this in the right forum, if I haven't could admin please put it where it should be? I've decided it's time to move on my 1999 Sunn Urge Un, it was used once last year and hasn't been touched this year, so someone else may as well enjoy it.

Spec is pretty much original, but with 2001 RS SID's (the top ones with lock out, I can't remember what model they were), a rear 1st edition cross max and a front 2nd edition cross max, a lay back thompson post, bonty (pre Trek) Ti Bars and a Chris King Rasta headset. The condition of the bike could be described as used i.e. there are the usual marks and scratches on it, but nothing too major, I've also lost 2 of the red dots on each side, but still have the 2 dots with UN on them.

Before i put it up for sale i was wanting gauge an idea on price, i was hoping for around the £600 mark but i could be way off here. So before i stick i tup for sale what would be a realistic asking price?

Thanks

Kev

Honestly, you are a million miles off with your asking price. You would be seriously lucky to get £150 with the spec you've listed. If you look in my threads you will see that i have got a 1998 Revolt GP with XTR, RaceFace, Syncros, Obsyss etc and i would be very, very lucky to get £200 for it. If i was you i would probably split it, you'll get more for it. Post some pics up and you will get a better idea of valuation. Is it this one?

as a sunn buff, I can only say very true comment
your CK and SID ( if in good condition) will push the limit a bit, your wheels condition will play their role too
but the frame itself is worth about 80 euros (not gbp!) at the most ( with stickers in good condition) I would say :?

Come on guys, true enough it's not worth anything like £600 but with crossmax wheels, thomson seatpost, CK headset and SIDs, he'll also be able to get a lot more than £150!

OP, the problem with old bikes is the cash value they hold often doesn't match what they're worth to us, the owners. If you want to get the most for your bike, split and sell it on ebay, if you want to see it go to a good home, put up an ad in the classifieds here with a price you think fair and see if you get any bites.

If it was going for £150 I'd buy it right now!

I agree £600 is very optimistic but certailny not as low as £150.

Thanks for the replies guys, if it's unlikely i'll get around the £400 mark i'd be happier keeping it, i now need to break the news to my good lady!

Depending on drivetrain, and if you split the bike into parts, you might get close to £400 in total but if it were me I'd keep hold of it, give it some love and get out riding it more often!

Think you have the info you need but for valuations we ask you sue the 'how much thread'.
