Hopefully someone on here can help/advise. I kept this wheelset back when I refurbished a friends Kona Caldera, other than a slightly grumbly rear hub they’re pretty good. They were fitted with disc brakes but do you reckon they’d be ok for rim braking? There’s a nice flat surface where the pads would contact and they seem fairly meaty. Would probably only be the rear I’d be using rim brake and disc up front.
Anyone have experience of doing this in the past?
Thanks.

I never did get an answer to this question and the wheels ended up being used with disc brakes again front/back.. I would’ve said they’d be ok with rim brakes - there’s nothing on the rims that says disc specific if I remember correctly.
Let us know how you get on. 👍

I used rim brakes on a set of painted track wheels with no machined braking surface. They worked, but they could be a bit grabby, squeally and juddery at times. I can’t remember what they were like in the wet. I wouldn’t recommend it.
