I couldn't help myself it was only £50, too big for me but I look forward to the project.
It's a Sun and think it's fairly early with the geometry and a Head Clip but when I pick it up I will investigate more.
Any Sun experts out there?

£50! Bargain :)
I am not fully up on Sun but that is lovely.
I know Spokesmann is a bit of a Sun man as well as being known for his Carltons.

Re:

From what I can see I would suggest the frame would date around the later 40's. There is some frame number info available. The Williams chainset may be original and sometimes carry a date code.

Thanks for the info, i thought late 40's too. I hope to pick it up this weekend so will look for date codes etc.

Complete with a squeaky plastic Simplex gear lever too! Definitely not correct for period!

Or the brakes either but a nice set of early GB would be nice - if you can find them!

Picked her up and here are some more pictures;

Any help in dating?

Re:

Hi, the 'P' in the serial number indicates 1948/9, and the 'L' means it was build to order in the Lightweight shop, so probably nice tubing under the paint, its got potential, enjoy the restore. Thanks Terry

Great, thanks for that I had a hunch there was something special under the "Dulux"
