Mike Smith, Veloduo Cycles, +44(0)7789434184 supplies ribbed cable outer for the mouton bicycle club - worth a try if you do want it.

I bought some of that on this Moulton I done up for the wife to ride at Eroica.

I have never found a modern replacement for the old pearl C record stuff ... if you are trying to copy that good luck and share the result if you crack it.

The modern white stuff ... well it just looks modern ...

Yeah that's the issue, I want the original colours :(

Then I am afraid you need to seek out some NOS.

I got two sets of C Record NoS pearl outers off eBay. Lucky I dodged the import duty which would have made them even more expensive.

Just looked on EBay, the seller I used wwcyclery has a pair for sale for £22 plus expensive postage. Import duty was charged but never collected.

US $62.50 postage! I appreciate the help but that postage cost is a joke.

I know ... But the cables are cheap so in the end I paid it because I could find no others.

The cables are very nice and mine were in perfect condition.

Re:

I have found e bay France as a good source for outer cable . All sorts of obb ball colours available and no wording printed on it .
Both rib and smooth available . You will need euros for the machine .

Re:

If you want rear mech cable I bought a bag of 100 5 years ago, no ferrules though, you'd have to recycle yours like I do.

I also have front and rear brake sets, another job lot but from the U.S. and I had to pay import duty, so not cheap to me.

PM me if you're interested,

Richie
