Interesting, didn't know the mc40 was also present in the alivio groupset.
I've had all of these recently. They last, I guess, but all have the same issues. Bottom plastic parts including the arms become loose and the interior springs need to be re-tensioned to shift the gears.
Has anyone compared the LX windowless version, been thinking of getting a pair as they sell cheaply compared to the xt/xtr of the same years. Wondering if they are any better
