Thanks to everyone who came along for my birthday ride, what an awesome route that was.

We even had some southerners, a big thank you to Gil and Matthew for guiding us around, no one had any real problems, just the odd technical adjustments and Matthew's free hub body was being a Knob head.

Can't wait for the moors one hundred ride next month

I will add more pictures later when I have some decent internet, we are staying in Robin hoods bay until Monday :D

Re:

Cheers all - really enjoyed it!

And very excited to find out the special guest was LGF! - who did annoyingly well on a totally ridiculous bike for the conditions...

Hope you had a good birthday Stu.

Re:

Another cracking ride , varied but relatively dry trails , good food and good company as per usual , nice to see some of our more southerly friends joining us and top marks for bringing a road bike on CX tyres .

It was a good ride and thank you for the warm welcome.

The Alan Alan Alan! was indeed ridiculous in every way but also the right blunt stick/ bicycle for the job. Only when a particularly boggy bit tried to swallow me whole (without so much as a drink or weekend away in Whitby first) was I having second thoughts...

The narrow tyres allowed for going straight through where wider tyres would have gone round or suspension would have carried it over. The gearing allowed for the 'big ring!' In all but the steepest (pub!) hills with very few gear changes throughout the ride.

Once again thanks for making my friend and this silly southerner welcome with such a great ride out in some spectacular scenery.

We did get some looks though.

And a nod to the Ken for his efforts!
