Stuck seatpost, mangled inside the frame - what now?

Any tips for me please? If I disolve a stuck aluminium alloy post in a titanium frame it will also dislove the bonded in collar at the top of the frame seat tube. Is it a simple matter of buying a seat post shim of the right size, with carefull measurements, to replace it or will that cause a headache and be hard to fix.

Thats the stuff. Try putting a bit of pipe lagging over the frame tube too. It keeps the cold in......is basically what comes in the expensive version of the kit!

Thank you very much all for the advice! I will get hold of that and give it a go. My plan is to secure the frame between two trees and use a ratchting tie down strap to pull on an bolt through the stuck post. It didnt work with mild heat ( aluminium expands twice as much as titanium.) The ice spray sounds ideal though.

Got the post out! Fitted a old bottom bracket. tied that to a tree. drilled hole through seatpost and put biggest old AF allen key (will never use as intended) through it. Pulled on that with a big ass lorry ratchet strap secured to a fence post, while at the same time freeze sprayed inside of seatpost, and used a titan hammer drill and chisel set to hammer only to push at the the allen key. Once it had moved an inch just pulling with the ratchet strap while twisting the allen key with a tube as lever got the rest out.

The frame has damage on seat stay tops, from previous owner but one who mangled it trying to get post out but might use frame as road comuter only or try to pull those dents somehow.

Erm, I can see that's one way to have done it - slightly industrial for my liking given the frame in question. I guess if it works, it works...

Awesome effort! Loving the set-up. Same principle as the "professional" seatpost removal jigs. Love the addition of an SDS drill, not the easiest thing to control when your hammering against an allen key that is technically "floating" in mid-air! 🤣💪👍
