Stuck seatpost.....fix or strip/sell components

Okay, got a Giant Granite off ebay, 36 quid. Nice bike other than a too big seatpost has been inserted (hammered in?) in a former life. Bike is presently upside down while the seatpost/tube swims in penetrating oil.

I've read Sheldon's advice, and have previous experience of stuck posts, so know the solutions. However, I can't be ars*ed to be honest. How much would LBS charge to have a go at removal ? I got told something along the lines of "it depends what we have to do", which sounds like they can charge anything.

Anyone in/around Liverpool got a big vice to hand if I cross your palm with a tenner ? Else I'm thinking if breaking it up and flogging the parts to get my money back. Ta very much.

Tricky. If some nodder has whacked in the wrong sized post then the traditional penetrating oil + time + vice method isn't going to bear fruit.

I think I'd be inclined to just bin it Derek Rollingtobacco at your local Bombsite Engineering can't offer a fairly firm promise on its removal.
