Re:

Yet another AB chainring was required, especially for the HG 12 speed chain, so I ordered up a 32 tooth oval which arrived today in their new fancy green packaging with gold foil blocking... very fancy! 8)

Re:

Have been chatting to Andy today (the designer) as I’ve been having a last minute sizing panic.... :?

Comparing it to my Enigma Ego ti, the long seat tube length would mean there’s an inch less seat post showing, but the effective top tube on the 20” frame (which is what I ordered) is the same at 635mm.

However, thinking on the style of bike and the 60mm longer head tube has had me debating on an 18” instead....

Both the 18” and 20” have the same stand over height which is less than the Enigma, so that’s cool, it’s just the effective top tube of 610mm/635mm I’m now debating!

There were only thirty 20” frames (fifteen of each in green or mustard) which have all been accounted for, compared to seventy of the 18” frames (green, mustard and a dusky pink).

Need to make my mind up!

Re:

So, after much discussion with Andy, I’ve decided to stick with my initial choice of the 20” green frame. 8)

Off the back of that I’m going to change things up and go with an 820mm wide bar and a 50mm stem, which means my Answer carbon protaper 20/20 bars and the Enve 70mm stem will be for sale.

Apparently the frames are due in the UK on the 22nd August which is a little ahead of schedule... can’t wait! :D

Re:

To help tie in with the stem with a slight BMX theme, I ordered some flats.
I still have my 959 SPDs, but wanted something I didn't have to clip in to all the time.
So, some Odyssey Triple Trap silver pedals arrived today which should do the job perfectly! 8)

Blimey....they could shift some skin off your shins! Grippy though.

The thing is, unless they've changed, is that they really aren't that grippy. Or originals weren't back in the day. The grip of modern pedals is light years ahead.

Don't look so cool though!

Re:

The build direction changed recently with the adoption of the short BMX stem, wide riser bars and the flat old-school pedals.

The Brooks Swift, as lovely and leathery as it was, was a proper weighty thing! I have an Ergon which is ok but a little too modern.... neither were hitting the mark.

So.... here is the latest eBay purchase, much more fun and much lighter!

It will tie in nicely with the ti cranks too being a ti railed version. 8)

Has had a thorough wash and brush up as was looking a wee bit grey as opposed to white.... but looking good now! :D
