hmmmm...I don't remember specialized tires looking like this in the early to mid 90's...do you?

These are late nineties/ early 2000's.
They were blackwalled for a few years and were then superceded by the fast tracks.
IIRC they were available around 97 in either skinwall or black. Dont quote me on that as its a dodgy memory at best

For that money I would be wanting Umma Gummas not just skinwalls :roll:
As A reference I picked up a NOS set of Storm control skinwalls for £21 only a fortnight ago

I checked a couple of old cats and even the 92 tyre cat and as far as I can see they were skinwall through till roughly 96 which is when they were the only blackwall tyre in the tech manual. They came standard on the Ground control model full sus. They are blackwall with the red stripe, all other models of MTB came with skinwalls still, well at least accordingy to the cats/manual. Theres no mention of them in the 95 cat or the 94 accessories cat, again both years had skinwalls on MTBs pictured.
I still think 96 on but would be interested to know for sure. Either way not for that money.
