Afternoon Chaps,

Just aquired a syncros stem for my marin, fits fine etc etc, the only issue is that the stem cap (crhis king one) doesn't fit flush, there's a small gap at the top.

Do the syncros stems have there own "special" cap or is it as simple as the star nut in the header needs angling?

*update after RTFM* Or does anyone have a spare angled Syncros aluminum stem cap going or swap for a Chris King cap?

Thanks for replying, I notice you say they are available but I've looked for a while and cant find anywhere that sells them or anything else I can use.

Unfortunately the "syncros" site is down a t moment so can;t even ask them.

You know of anywhere? If not I'll buy some alu myself and lathe it.

Hi again Lee, did a bit of googling after your message , it seems you are not the only one who is after a syncros cap.

can you confirm that it is this one you are after as it look round and not oval to me, are we getting confused with the plastic top cap from a snycros quill

i have asked someone if it is erm relatively simply doable and financially and timably viable to make a replacement cap, if you know what i mean

yeah I have already posted in that thread, seems like he has the plastic ones which is fine. Yes it's the same as the one you have posted Charlie it's not oval as my chris kings fits the hole perfectly, just the angle thats off

Also the two 12.9 hex nuts in the clamp ones seems a bit shorter than the other.

Are these easily found in a longer length that you can cut to size?

There's someone on here with several for sale

3 and a half years ago mind!

I used to use standard top caps modified by drilling the bolt hole at an angle. The other way was using an xlite top cap with the the countersunk bolt as they cope with the angle better.

Hmmm, dunno why I said it was oval...

...I meant angled!

I bought mine from Chain Reaction, but it turns out they're discontinued :?
