Hi all,

Is there any "goldon rule" for the number of spacers under the stem - maybe maximum :?

I know this is very subjective but I'm just keen to get thoughts. I'm having a new fork fitted today for the caldera build and am not sure what to do

Your thoughts are very welcome :D

There's a thread on this on the Retro Road Bike forum, appears that the agreement is that fewer looks better but can be less comfortable for some - my view is that less is more (aesthetically appealing). But that doesn't exactly answer your question.

I'd suggest leaving the steerer uncut or at least with margin to experiment as you can always have a spacer or too above the stem until you are absolutely sure you don't want a higher position. Once you are where you want, cut away (it's a straightforward job if someone ham fisted like me can manage it).
