Starter Bike

Looking to get a Road bike to start road cycling with a few friends, who already do it. So would like to find a good bike to get me started.

What out there that would suit me. I think I need a 56cm frame. I am just under 5ft 10"

OK so something a bit more modern try the bike 1998 on section

90s onward will get you STI type shifters on the handlebars instead of downtube shifters. There are a lot of 90s and early 2000s aluminium bikes that don't make big money because they're not steel, but they still ride pretty well. You'll see the odd few on here from time to time.
