Taking from the 98 Kona catalogue
If i was the new owner i'd stick a magnet on the frame, going please don't stick, please don't stick![]()
It cant hide the wrong drop outs though!Paint hides alot of things you know![]()
The '98 catalogue pictures do not match the production bikes, they had all top tube cable routing (and the Kilauea had blue decals instead of red). Some of the Ti frames built in '97 had already moved to the top tube cabling, so I guess that is why the KK in the catalogue was correct. The painted frame is certainly steel, and most likely I think to be the Kilauea.
Personally I think it’s a later (98/99) Kilauea that the owner had painted in the scheme but had the years matching decals too. But obviously didn’t get the correct tubing ones.
Spoil sportIt cant hide the wrong drop outs though!
Hahanna has different dropouts though, right?Spoil sportLet the new owner dream for a while, for all they know they could've bought a posh Hahanna
