Hi long time reader first time poster

I got this of Gumtree in bit's the guy bought it from new in the 70's then put it in the garage for over 30 years.
the back wheel had to be replaced but managed to salvage the front wheel but every time i put the front brake on it squeal's any ideas what the problem is thanx in advance :shock: trying to add pic sorry

Most likely ancient brake pads coupled with poor set up. Clean the rims thoroughly, fit new pads and set them up carefully. Browse some on-line guides like these one for set-up help & advice:

Never heard of Starnord, it's a rather jolly little ride!

Yes, it's probably the hardened old brake blocks that are squealing. New ones are about £5 per pair on eBay and ought to cure it.
