SS Pace...in 853 Steel!!

Ah interesting:

Will be quite expensive it seems.

853 fillet brazed geared and non geared versions.

Stainless steel chainstay filletbrazed to 853 ( hence no paint)

Itis quite nice I guess. Shame it isnt square tho - that would rock.

Also somethings bugging me still:

Does it look like someones just plopped a modern pace sticker on a blue steel frame to you?

:)

Yup...and its a shit build as well  If your'e gonna showcase something, pop some bling on it sweetheart :D

Well as a self confessed Pace-o-hollic its the first pace frame that has interested me in 8 years. To be honest I think I may treat myself to one.

(Deffo with the stainless stay!)

It looks very Chas Roberts,is it fillet brazed?

Yup filleted, and I think the Roberts look is partially why I like it. Sort of fits with my current collection :)

its mint. and not just in terms of the colour.

Had a chat with with that Adrian chap about it at SSUK, its full custom, down to the colours, and the Reynolds 953 is apparently available in all sizes now so you could build a full bike from it if anyone cared.

I also asked if they were considering building any more square tubed bikes at any point, due to their retro demand, and the fact that a lot of them seemed to have stood the ravages of time (especially compared to a lot of ally bikes) well. He said

If you're going to put a SS chain stay in why not go the whole hog and build it out of 953 rather than 853 then you wouldn't have to paint any of it.

oh...I thought the non-painted chain stay was 953.....getting dafter the more I look at it :P  And anyway, your chain will have to be over-the-handlebars-slack to get any slap and tickle on the stay.
