sram x9 x0 how good is it ?

update

ok so I decided to go with a shimano xt front mech after all, so now running x9 shifters with x0 rear derry and the xt mech, ive not yet had a test ride but found setting up the front and rear gears a doddle compared to shimano, the shifting seems so much more positive even running through the gears on a bike stand they feel smooth and instant, got to say im so glad I asked the original question of how good is sram compared to shimano, will try and get a test run tomorrow just to get the overall feel of shifting on the move, :D

What is the shift ratio of XT ? because sram xo is a 1:1 :? I thought xt was 1:2

It's only the rear derry that has that ratio. The front ones are identical, so you can interchange them.

I've always found that Sram stuff is much easier to set up because it's less sensitive to being slightly out due to the 1:1 action. I've generally had to fiddle with it far less too but I've not had any Shimano stuff since my M952.

first ride out today and as expected the shifting was spot on, using shimano in the past as seen me returning home due to the gears slipping under pressure or missing gears all together and having to fettle them, none of this with the sram, select a gear and smooth as butter it slips into the correct one, going down to an higher gear was almost instant in shifting and going back up they felt like they wanted to shift themselves at the slightest amount of pressure on the thumb shifter, and a firm push sees the gear change, now with shimano ive found that you have to push the thumb shifter just that little bit further and then some extra until it finally decides to wake up and actually change up or down, well my first ride with sram as made my mind up, im now sticking with it on all my rides :D
