Clearing out an abandoned project and thought it better here than the road section.
Tried converting an old road frame for gravel use but frame just didn't have enough tyre clearance, so I've treated myself to a proper gravel bike.
Groupset (except brake calipers) was new last year and after my tyre issues only has a few hundred road miles on it. Brake calipers are older PM Sram calipers as the groupset came with flat mounts and I used my existing calipers.
List of what's for sale.
APEX 1 11 speed drop bar shifter and post mount hydro brakes.
Apex 1 crankset 46t ring 172.5mm with matching threaded DUB bottom bracket, with spacers for 68/73mm frames.
11-42 cassette and chain. 11 speed HG fitment.
Apex 11 speed rear mech.
Drop bars and matching 100mm stem.
Pair 160mm rotors.
Basically everything you need to turn an old mtb into a gravel bike.
Things to consider.
I'd changed to a bigger ring, so the original chain has a piece of another chain spliced in to make it longer. Works perfectly but I am also including a brand new chain should you wish to change it or just keep for a spare.
Brake rotors are older and have a fair amount of surface corrosion on the non braking surface parts, but doesn't affect stopping power.
Front pads pretty new, but rear have seen more miles. Spare set of pads included though.
Brake hoses have been sized for a medium road bike. Can't measure full length as bars are all taped up, but happy to measure exposed length if needed. I reckon the front will be too short for suspension forks, but may be ok for rigid forks. Worst case scenario would be swapping the current rear hose to the front and buying a single hose kit for the rear. Road levers need a specific SRAM hose as the bevelled lever fitting are pressed onto hose. Jagwire do a version for £35 or SRAM one is around £45. I have taken this into consideration with my pricing.
DUB bottom brackets need a bigger than usual tool for fitting and removal. I think some older XTR specific tools also work, but not sure which ones. If you don't have anything suitable, budget another £10 for this.
Price for everything is £175 inc UK postage. If you don't need the bar and stem, it's £165 inc postage.
Any questions feel free to ask.
