Squeel like a pig boy...rather you didn't

I've got arch supremes, shimano ceramic pads and mavic ceramic rims. They still scream :? Not sure why, they never used to  Of no help i know, just my experience.

Eureka!
Cleaned the rims with meths...marginal improvement
Fitted XTR Ceramic Pads......NO SQUEEL.....excellent...thanks for the heads-up Mike.
But I did loose power, just tweaking the washers etc, getting the rim to pad distance right....and hopefully, Bobs your Uncle.

I take the squealing to be part and parcel of having v's ,but disc do too ,cant win,i just put up with it rather than spending cash,£8 on new pads did they work-,no not going to throw good after bad

This is rather simple, ceramic rims require ceramic blocks. Period!

Go out and buy two pairs of Shimano ceramic specific pads. If squeel still persists check the bushings on your brakes.

I have been running ceramic rims since 231's and quite simply, the only acceptable block has always been Shimano ceramic specific.

I had a set of grey hard blocks once which had been mentioned as ceramic specific and they removed some ceramic somehow?

Oh and I gave my Hope/217 ceramic wheels to someone, guess what, ceramic has came off in places due to him trying all sorts of different blocks to remove squeel. I got the wheels back and he gave me an unused set of ceramic pads which he had not tried.

Old MK 1 ceramic usually can seem to wear out, IE fill up and appear shiny, you can get a block which cleans them from Mavic, but I am sure this sanding block is available elsewhere in the DIY world for a lot less than Mavic charge.
Ceramic II (the later light grey coating on 517's and such) I found to be much better than MK1 on the 231 and such, it's less brittle, does not clog as much and offers improved braking over the old ceramic, still had some wear through the ceramic issue due to non ceramic pads though.
