V brake thing...can't stop them squeeling.
Set up is Avid Ultimates (modern) & XTR levers. Ceramic rims (some wear)
First of all just tried them with the standard pads(part worn) that came with the arms...squeel and stick to the rims...not good
Green Disco pads new.....squeel
Scrubbed green disco.....squeel
With or without tow-in.
Any suggestions....different pads.
Braking power is great....just don't like the noise.
Cheers
Carl

those green pads will EAT your ceramic rims, they killed mine inside a year... sidewall goes bang! try standard black kool stop or shimano ceramic.

Interesting discussion. I've just acquired some ceramic rims and was wondering what pads to get.

Sheldon Brown says salmon/rust; Scant says black and Kool Stop's website says green (maybe not the same green?)

(edit: just trawled through old threads and read the full story. Still none the wiser)

the green kool stop pads work amazingly well with ceramic rims & lasted amazingly well, unfortunately they ripped through the ceramic coating on my 517 ceramic, which is why I dont recommend them. I'd prefer softer pads & longer lasting rims!.. well strictly speaking I vastly prefer disc brakes.. but you know what I mean
