Squared Girvin Flexstem?

I've got this strange Girvin flexstem that isn't like any other. It's squared and looks a little funny. Does anyone know if it's a special application like for a road bike or something?

haha not heard "cheng shin" for a long time. at school me and my mate used to refer to anything sub standars as "cheng chin" , or if i remember correctly cheng shin young hai!

No, it is genuine, just a cheap version of the original. It was one of the last flex-stem variants (along with the ahead)

Who could forget the 26" centre ridge tyres which came with low end Raleigh - no tyre skidded better than these bad boys.
