I bow to your knowledge. The ‘Performance’ thing is just some bikeshop branding or such like then.

It's very likely.
when smallish uk builders offered complete bikes, some components got custom stickers.
But many manufacturers themselves also did it.
The world champ sticker over the join I've seen before - even that gold sans-serif performance label seems familiar.

Originally Oscar Egg's company, produced all sort of kit (mainly rear mechs) under the Super Champion branding. Eventually owned by Wolber and then passed on (complete with the remains of that company) to Hutchinson.

I did wonder why superchamps often said Wolber, but often didn't, even though the label design was almost identical

It's not an uncommon name
I don't think it would have anything to do with stickers on super champion sprints in Europe.
