Spinergy

Don't do it man... I had a 700c Spinergy with a snapped spoke (or blade or whatever) on display for years in my room - the owner broke the spoke on a pothole about half a dozen rides from new...

These are for bike polishers only, riders should shop elsewhere!

(Okay, I've done my best!)

Thanks for the warning  .

If they were £50 then I would've bought them but like you say they are only eye candy afaic. I would definately break em if I used them  . They're quite safe from me. Quite suprised that they haven't sold though. There were a lot of people in the wanted forum asking for them. I thought that it was a good price if you like that sort of thing, maybe the damage writes them off? :? I don't really know about such things, never had any carbon fibre wheels.

Spinergy

Well put it this way - over the decade or so since Rev X Roks appeared things in mountain biking have tended towards strength. Only very recently have we started to see carbon rims back on the market for XC race use only. My attitude is that these new rims, plus 28 spokes most likely make a stronger combo than 8 carbon blades, otherwise no one would would be paying £800 per wheel or whatever. That and you don't tend to see Cam McCaul pulling flip-whips on a 30ft step down on a set on Spins!

Like I say, very pretty on the right garage queen, but if you like to ride your bike, better spend that £150 on a nice set of Hopes laced to Mavic Ceramics.

Just out of interest, what bike were you thinking of putting the Spinergies on?
