Spindle width 1989 Diamondback Apex?

Looking for a new bb, the bb tube width is 68mm...is there a general lenth i should go for or does it depend on the crank fitted?
Cant find any info online

BB length is crank specific. The only thing you need to know about the frame is whether it's a 68mm or 73mm shell.

It measures at 68mm..just never had a bb so wasnt sure...just realised i do have a couple of old sealed bb's so can experiment with these.
Will be fitting a xt m730 crank

You want a 68-122.5mm bottom bracket then.
