Hi all

Whilst taking the freewheel of my Raleigh Clubman 1985 it appears I have bent my spindle

I need a q/r spindle ( I think 8/9 mm) for the rear wheel on my 1985 Raleigh Clubman, its a 27 x 1 1/4 wheel with Maillard hub with 85 stamped on it (I assume the date of manufacturer).

Has anyone got one in their parts bin ?

Help me get back on the road :(

Re: Q/r spindle needed for 1985 Raleigh (rear)

I have a serviceable Maillard QR skewer, it has ATOM on the reverse of the skewer lever however, the chrome on the lever is excellent but there is some dulling/pitting on the head section.
I've taken a couple of photos, PM me your email and I'll pop them over for you to peruse.

Re:

Still looking for one :(

10mm x 133mm, hollow for QR wheel.

Need to get the road bike on the road asap.

If anyone know where I can get a decent quality one online then point me in the direction.

Thanks :!:

Still looking for one, or point me in the direction of a new one.

Looked online and they are not the same length. I have been in a few local bike shops and nothing

Need one soon !

Re:

My local bike shop has a spindle but its about 2-3mm longer, I assume that this would be ok.

just don't want to damage my precious frame

or buy one and chop down?

Shaun

I asked the guy in the bike shop and he said not to cut them down, I did think it was odd.

Its only a few mm and wont make it weaker, I wonder why I bother going to bike shops :(

Thank god for Retrobike
