Mmmh... that must be the super rare steel metal matrix I've heard only rumors about bitd... The story goes, iirc, they had really problems for the paint to hold on the aluminium M2, let alone those fancy rack mount braze-ons Ned always asked for to take the nice girls for a ride with him after the races. So they prototyped those rare steel M2. When Ned came back from the first ride, paint and the rack mount braze-ons were still sticking to the frame! And Ned, having picked up a nice girl on that ride which liked the paint so much and sat on the rack when he came back, was unbelievably happy and spontaniously called out "Specialized M2 works !!!"
