I was curious to try one of these but, ultimately, I don't think it's going to get any more use from me: it duplicates what I've already got with my Marin Stinson and the Stinson's geometry suits me just that little bit better. However, it's a nice frame set, karma because it's collection only (from Canterbury) and because I'd like it to go to a good home.

What you get is: the frame set (18"), original handlebars with Spesh branded Gripshift, Girvin flexstem, the wheels (+ tyres if I haven't chucked them), original seatpost, any other bits that I can find in the den of parts. (You don't get a saddle: I flogged off the original.)

If you wanted, you could also take the Stumpy advertised here: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/stumpjumper-frame-yr-2000-raceface-chainset.478506/. And there's a tatty but sound 1995 Pine Mountain (frame only, 19" C-T-T) for nowt.

Lovely touch up! I recently just got this exact same model & colour way a couple of months ago. My first time getting to be a bike mechanic, but if you don't mind me asking, what brand stem are you running? I can't seem to find any online.

P.s. also just got a pair of Panaracers Gravelking, loving them but seating the bead was a tough one eh?
Cheers!

The bike originally came with a Girvin Flexstem, one with a significant degree of rise. That, coupled with the original riser bars, made the riding position more upright and relaxed than it would otherwise be. This was one of the 1990s' Specialized bikes on which the top of the head tube was fairly low and they compensated with a stem/handlebar combo with plenty of rise. (The 1996 Hardrock Ultra was worse for this: a very low front end, lower than the same year's Stumpjumper, and a tall stem; indeed, a stem that was a lot taller than the head tube.) When I was riding the bike, I ditched the Flexstem and used a stem from my parts boxes that gave a comfortable position. It wasn't anything special (Kalloy Uno, I think) and chosen purely to give me a comfortable fit. Look at quill stems on eBay and you will find something similar.
