I had one of these also. First road bike so I had nothing to compare it with. It was however nowhere near as bad as my aluminium Gt Edge.

I've still got one as my hack bike - I've loaded it up with mudguards, lights, the whole nine yards - I've therefore no idea how it handles in normal situations - care to elaborate on the comment?

I found it overly harsh (especially on Pompey roads!)
It damn near shook all my fillings out.

Imagine it on the Edinburgh cobbles then! Still, most road bikes I've ridden feel harsh over that sort of surface, so I suppose I've got used to it. Besides, its probably got a few cracks under the covering of road filth, which probably make it a little more compliant

He he yeah. My one actually developed a crack just under the seat post binder which was about 1cm long.
