Spd shoe/pedal help

Ive been using some M545 pedals along with some Northwave Spd shoes (Trainer type) Ive been using them for about 3 years now but just these last few rides ive been getting real bad pains on the ball of my right foot, Pain thats bad enough to ruin the ride. Ive not adjusted the cleats or pedals so i'm a bit stumped on whats causing the pain, all suggestions ideas welcome.

Try tightening/loosening the float maybe?

Shoes may not be stiff enough - perhaps soles may be worn out.

Have you changed your seat height or front/back adjustment on the rails?

I tried some Northwave trainer spd shoes... If the same they are terrible I rode one ride and never touched them since.... My feet killed there was so much flex around the pedal they made my Nike airs look stiff :shock: dread to think what they would be like if worn :?

Thanks for the replies folks, seat and post haven't changed. I'm beginning to think the shoes are worn as they've done about 2000 miles now, I'll try readjusting the cleats and the float and see if that betters them

I have the Northwave shoes, mine have worn through where the cleat fits. In the bin now and on £25 Aldi ones!
