spam on mobile phone?

past few weeks ive had a few random spam texts trying to sell me stuff etc..i heard something a few weeks back about something kicking off with mobile numbers like a directory or something??? any ideas?

The directory has started. you have to pay a £1 to get a number.

It sounds like you are on a database.
If all the messages are coming from the same number, ICSTIS regulations say they have to stop if you reply to one of the messages with the text STOP (all capitals, no spaces before or after).
Of course, it doesn't always work. :twisted:

The directory will have nothing to do with it. They act like the old reverse charge system, you call and ask for a number and they call or text the person in question asking if they want to be connected, if they don't that's it. They don't give the number out, so it's not like the old 192. The media have jumped all over it saying it's a threat to privacy, but it's blatantly not. By the way I have nothing to do with the service, just get frustrated by the media spreading lies.

Yep they don't give out number, but just shows how the media is a load of balls.

I heard somehting last night, and i was thinking no way could they do that, so spend 2 minutes on net finding the real story :roll: as i never believe one source alone.
