I am finishing restoring a Holdsworth Monsoon. The rear spacing is 126mm, but the Weinmann big flange hubs I used when building the wheels have resulted in a 10mm gap between the frame and the top gear cog.
Unfortunately the Simplex derailleur wont reach to low cog although it has plenty of flexibility at the high end.
I am thinking about going through my old spares box, finding a freewheel size nut that is at least 5mm smaller, and balancing up the other size back to 126mm overall.
Apart from redishing the wheel to centre it again, whsat is the minimum I should leave to avoid chain rubbing.
