Good morning all :-)

I sold this bike a few weeks ago and it's been troublesome from the outset.

So, after the latest incident i've refunded the purchasers funds and taken it back in an attempt to get it sorted once and for all. If this fails to work i'm cutting it up into small pieces

I've fitted a Shimano Deore 9sp RD but the gears refuse to index properly. My brother suspects that the Sram shifters and Shimano RD are incompatible. Plus the Truvativ Husselfelt chainset has a damaged plastic chainring protector so i'd like to replace that too.
I'm looking for cheapy-cheap-cheap if possible.

Thanks.

Re: Sram 8sp RD and Truvativ crank parts.

You'd need a Sram mech to go with the shifters and you'd need to tell us what the shifters are

or

You'd need to get some Shimano shifters.

Sram X-7 if I remember correctly.

I've considered putting Shimano on it but i'm then going down the road of changing the FD and l/h shifter too. I may just 'bite the bullet' and change it all to Shimano but what will it cost me ?

I charged under £100 for the bike in the beginning, I need a magic wand

Re: Sram 8sp RD and Truvativ crank parts.

The trouble with Sram is that it isnt always compatible within itself

I have an X-7 mech here if you want it for £7, will need jockey wheels though

Re:

I have jockey wheels, they're the only bits left salvageable off the original item.

I'm gratefull for the offer :-)

Pm incoming.
