Picked this up this morning but I have no idea on how old it is. It is however awesome

I'm pretty sure it's around 2000 because it has an indentation in the chainstay to clear a disc and the pictures of the later bandit pro doesn't have it. Finding info is a pita though unless your German or Japanese.

I know this is based on the klein's of the period as storck was the German importer who started his own brand using klein frames. Also this has the USA head badge so I think it's one of the first with disc mounts hence the indent as a workaround for clearance instead of a redesign.
Just guesswork but makes sense to me. But I could be wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a quality frame with nice welds and the chain suck device is in place which I was glad to see. I can't wait to get it built but it has left me with a dilemma. I'm going to use the xt770 shifters and derailleur's I have in stock. And I have the matching v brakes and levers. I also have the wheels built up but there on odd rims so do I build up with what I have or sell the brakes and wheels and bite the modern bullet and go hydro disc?.

I know there not new but I'm old school.

I've decided to get a matching chain set then build it up with the v brakes. Trouble is I know all the other bits I want for it but don't have the cash at the moment. Have you ever tried explaining the benefits of a set of magura rond shocks over presents for the kids. Didnt go down well. Also trying to tell my wife I want an xt 770 triple chainset for Christmas with bottom bracket to match. Her reply was is that the bit you sit on :facepalm:

Never mind I will get it myself.

I do have enough parts to make it a bike but I want to do this justice not just throw on what's available to get it riding. Still need more info on its age though.

Definitely disc, I have just got some M771 disc brakes to fit to my Rock Lobster along with M771 shifter & 9 speed cassette to go 1x9. I sold the triple crankset on and have the front mech for sale.

This will allow me to finally leave rim brakes behind. In time I will aim to move to 1x11 same as on my Turner but no fun in doing it all at once .

Frame looks great what wheelset would you go for? Matching rims are so important if you want to feel good about the bike. I think it would really suit Mavic Crossrides or a Shimano wheelset with 24 bladed spokes. Balance between cost, looks and performance.

I think I'm going to gather what I have and see how I feel about it all as an ensemble then either build or store till it's right. I have everything but the crank at the mo but when it's all together I can decide weather to build or wait. I'm in no rush it's not like I'm short of bikes but it keeps staring at me.

I will go disc eventually I think. As for wheels I do have a couple of sets but nothing disc thats decent so I will look into it when I get there.

I did what I said I was going to do and gathered the parts together and thought sod it ive got it all out I might as well build it. There are a few things to change in the future but for now it's a great ride and all working well.

Spec at the moment

Storck bandit frame
Can't remember the post
Xt 770 shifters and derailleurs 9x3
Xt 770 v brakes
syncros bars and stem
Deore hollotech 2 crank and bottom bracket
Mach 1 rims on deore hubs
Vuelta saddle coz it's blue and yellow
Rockshox xc28 100mm forks.

I'm pretty happy with it for now but when funds allow there will be a couple of changes. I still haven't found any more on these shores so if someone has one I'd love to see it. I still don't have an answer to what year it is. Hope you like it

Nice colour scheme but it definitely needs disc brakes! Even budget ones are better than V brakes.

I have a few nice sets of disc compatible wheels, spare rotors and even a cheap set of Juicy3s brakes and all the hardware. I could even drop them off if you are South Manchester as that is where I work. Oh and drop the 3x, get a 32 up front and a 34 on the rear, you don't need more than that in Manchester, it barely has a hill!

I live on the border of Bolton and Manchester so I trail up Rivington so hills do come up quite often. Also the cheap disc setup on my wife's gt isn't as good as the xt v's I have on this or the 739 on my specialised. I know hydro is the way to go So i will be going disc when funds permit. What would I be looking at for a set of wheels and rotors?
