Some thoughts on my kcnc brakes

Old School Grand Master
A few people said that they would be interested to know what my kcnc brakes were like,
ie;How powerful
do they work in the wet
do they seem strong enough
etc.
So I have used them quite a few times and confidently say................

They are pretty good.Slight issues below;
1,The stock pads were not upto much so I changed them over and the new ones I fitted are a fraction lighter and more powerful anyway.
2,The cable noodle fitment thingy's are a bit unnnecessary and fiddly so I took them off and routed the nokon straight in at the side.(saved a bit more weight like this as well,and the brakes are more powerful)
3,There is a bit of play in the lever (which can be taken up with some chainring spacers).
4,In the wet.....cant say as they will not get used in the wet anyway :oops:

I had been told that they are difficult to set up,I found this not to be the case,even with my rear wheel about 1mm out of true they were easy to get spaced correctly.
They do not have the power of my m950 v's,but I did not expect them to really,but they can stop me at my weight :oops: on a dime and that is good enough for me.

Hi there IDB1...Yes they are pretty good,when you change out the pads anyway,I think that the stoock pads are best for ceramic rims,and not straight alloy ones. :roll:
Anyway I bought some red and black dual compound pads and they have a tapered black compound at one end that is actually about 3 grams lighter than the supplied pads 8)
better lever pic below.
