It was a 25-year dream come true to get this disk drive at the start of the year and a huge effort taken in sourcing NOS Mavic M231 rim, NOS Deore XT FH-M732 hub, NOS XT 135mm OLD axle and full NOS Sugino hardware for the build, which was also a mission to get done.

Built only a couple of weeks ago it's only been ridden approximately 8 miles and it is still round and true - no issues! No rips, tears, holes, fraying or anything like that. A few minor issues - see bad bits below - but would suit a rider or a show bike equally.

Why selling so soon? I only intended to build to ride one lap of Mayhem and come what may, it was being put into retirement and hung on the garage wall afterwards, survive or fail. I'm pleased to say it survived of course! But I've ticked the box, loved riding it, would love to keep it. Staring at it in the flesh beside a poster of Tomac in the garage is quite surreal, but I have my eye on another bike which I quickly need to raise a chunk of cash for. So, the Disk Drive is for sale.

•Tioga Disk Drive Comp 36H with the improved valve access (like Pro model).
•NOS Mavic M231 silver rim.
•NOS Deore XT FH-M732 silver hub (135mm OLD).
•NOS Sugino disc nuts, bolts, nipples and screws, plus spares.
•NOS HyperGlide 7spd freehub (cassette not included).
•NOS Sugino special wrench.
•NOS (still in packet) Sugino disc wheel valve extension adapter.
•Bad bits: the 'D' shape plastic valve surrounds have split on both sides but the structure is not affected, it's just cosmetic. The outer plastic film is slightly de-laminating on the drive side near the valve and a bit more on the non-drive side, also near the valve.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I would prefer discussion via email/iMessage/Whatsapp (as they're all quicker and easier than PMs) so PM for more pics/details.

PayPal friends only or add 4%.

Cost: £750 plus shipping. Worldwide available.

I know it's a LOT of money. It owes me more but I've seen unrideable ones which are totally useless going for half the money, and facked ones for similar. Hard thing to price, but I'm not pricing it as a money-maker. Hopefully the build spec is perfect for someone looking for one that needs little/no attention.

I really don't want to sell it, but needs must.

Sold for asking price. Now en route to Denver, CO, to mate up with a Yeti Ultimate.

It's been emotional!

Congrats to both parties!
Congrats to its new owner Jason, commiserations to me :'(

Needs must though. And before I stripped the tyre, tube and cassette off, I took a photo of it in situ where it would've spent its final days/weeks/months/years with me! I got out of it cost neutral, give or take a couple of pounds, but the fun of building it and actually riding it whilst I owned it was priceless.

Maybe if another one shows up in future I'll be all over it - a Pro model definitely. I'm glad I 'rescued' this one, gave it a new lease of life and found it a 'proper home' (i.e. a Yeti in Colorado! :))
