My mate Neil sent me, so hello retro biking types.
I have the following surplus to requirements;
One large and very retro Marin with fetching purple bar-ends.
No dents, no serious crashes. Plenty of minor ones.
Some evidence of surface corrosion on the underside where the paint has been chipped.
4 arm spider LX cranks and front rings
LX rear mech
LX V brakes
STX RC shifters (rear shifter has lost the plastic bottom cover but still worked, probably best considered suspect)
STX RC hubs. Front hoop is a Mavic 217, rear is a 221 (I think)
Smoke/Dart tyres
SPD pedals included
In no way mint, was raced cross country and generally used pretty well until I bought the kona.
Not turned a wheel for probably 6-7 years. Has hung in a garage.
I have no idea what the bearings are like - that being said, the wheels span freely with no noise, and the bottom bracket also seems quiet when the cranks are rotated - I've not put any load though it so don't know if it's ok when actually pedalling.
I'd obviously suggest it wants new cables, tubes, pads and tyres as a minimum, but the brakes didn't feel awful (they squealed like a pig, so the period noise is there too....)
Everything else felt surprisingly solid. The spiderwebs and period mint sauce stickers are included at no extra cost.
(and yes, there's no chain in the pics. I have a brand new correct one, but can't find my chain tool...)
She's got to go as I need the space for another bike.
Buyer collects, or arranges delivery/shipping with me (I can probably drop the thing off if it's not "taking the piss" distance).
£100
