Sold - 1985 Saracen City Bike with Reynolds 531

The bike's frame is the identical frame to the 1985 Saracen Conquest although it has no Reynolds decals on it. I have checked the Saracen archives and spoken to the former owner of Saracen at the time (my Dad) who confirms it was a Reynolds 531 frame.

I'm looking for £115 which will cover the cost of the bike including the transport costs I paid, as well as getting the spokes fixed. I'd prefer to sell this to someone who's not planning to strip the bike for parts.

Spec:

Reynolds 531 frame and forks
Suntour AR front and rear derailleur
Suntour shifters
Dia Compe brakes
Nervar crankset
Rigida rims
Brooks B72 saddle

The bike is in Brighton but happy to ask local shop to pack it up so it can be picked up by courier.

I found a pump at the old Saracen warehouse which fits the bike perfectly, it completes the bike alongside the rack and mudguards.

My original plan was to respray the bike but having met the original owner who's cared for it for nearly 30 years I feel as though it needs to be kept original

It would be really interesting to hear more from your Dad as former owner of Saracen. Any chance of any stories or recap on his time?

Is there anything in particular, about specific bikes, and I'll ask him?

I saw my uncle last weekend who was joint owner with my Da, he was on his titanium Kili Ultra which he reckons was the best bike they made. I still love the 1988 matt black Conquest with Reynolds 531, and black hard anodised parts and red cables - they looked great new in the factory and so much thought went into the design. I keep looking out for one but haven't seen one yet...
