what's the current take on the snowflake pattern, did a couple of builds at the time of the craze, what was the extra mm required to do a twist? was it one full twist around the meeting spoke? thinking of building one just for the crack and to amaze my work colleagues, cheers alan.

I read about these today, I'm sure it said 10mm longer.

I don't think they are any stronger at all than normal, just heavier and harder to build, hence why you never see them any more.

Were they a pain to build? I recall reading you really needed to pull them hard with pliers.

They do look uber cool though! Worth doing just for that.

How did you find building them Alan? By the time I got into wheel building in any great number the fad had passed so I never got to try it.
