Smelly saddle - just drill it ?😷

So she spent +2 weeks since last post sat ontop of the hot water tank and still didn’t dry out properly or stop smelling of muddy old boots. So as previously threatened she got a good drilling this Sunday morn and loads of juice came out, bubbles and everything:


5mm bit in the end, as evenly spaced out and in the areas of thickest sponge as best as possible.

This might take off, you know...

A whole forum drilling the undersides of their saddles to get the decades of arse stink out.

And then years from now, future forum members debating the design and performance merits of drilling holes into saddles, and whether the weight weenies of 2021 had taken things just a little too far...

It’s a good 12grams lighter now (1g per hole) and now has better damping rebound air intake on the cushion, when you go over bumps !!

I recon i’ve doubled its value

Could be that you’re crept up on from behind by a can of pledge carrying sausages and the children warn you but you always turn around just that little bit too slowly.

A couple of more mm drilling I reckon it could evacuate farts better too.

You will never need to miss a pedal stroke and raise yourself off the saddle. Just let it all blow out and leave a vapor trail.

Annual update.

The saddle has been donated for free to an unsuspecting member on here, who I hope realy likes minty fresh saddle flavours ( he also got a bunch other nicer free things), but be warned, he may well in turn pass it on to anyone of you. Let the games begin.

I feel this game of pass the parcel could last for years.
