Small parts shipping from Holland query

Who knows a cost effective way of shipping small parts to the UK from Holland please?

I 've sold a few items here that were larger and quite high value and shipping AFAIK was OK. However, I found that if I want to ship a small item as a package the minimum rate is something like 12 EUR / 9 GBP with TNT.

I do not know whether things have changed but I sent small stuff, say bars, for 4.25 euro to UK. Up to 500gram

I googled it and indeed the basis pakket is still on offer on-line. I got my price info in a leaflet from the post office (small agentschap) and that does not list the cheaper basis pakketten.

Well, at least this means I can realistically offer small items for sale here too. If I can part with them that is ... I'm hoarding a bit recently. Some people here collect retro bikes and bits, what I do is more like accumulating ;-)
