FluffyChicken Archivist Retrobike Rider Feedback View Feb 3, 2012 #2 I took mine off the minute I got it, annoyed me. No idea where it is now though. You don't need it, it's purely an added safety feature. The two Allen bolts stop it slipping off.

The shimano website gives you the part diagram http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/t...FC/EV-FC-M660-2790C_v1_m56577569830728283.pdf And I think the part number you want is Y-FU-98120.
