(slightly late) 2017 Mayhem Project - Sintesi Hantrax

Re:

Yeah, don't know what the rear shock is, not got that far yet.

Wheels sorted now, just need to cable up and should be ready to go. Maybe.

Re:

Quick snaps as it stands now.

Still needed: swap saddle, cable up and chain on.

Re:

IT'S ALIVE!

final parts in, couple of false starts with a) getting the right cable in the appropriate guide, and b) getting the front mech in just the right place (first out of line, then too low and fouled on the middle ring so wouldn't shift back down from big ring)

Couple of laps of the road and everything seems to be connected. Drivetrain clicks around nicely, brakes are good, no wobbles or creaks.

Dare I say it.... FINISHED!

.... apart from a few finishing touches. Bar end plugs I think, and the tyres are a bit past it but will do for shakedown.

Barely 12 months behind schedule on a 6 week project. 'Bout right for the modern Britain.

Re:

Quick shakedown ride around the block. It's actually alright this. Everything seems to work and it rides pretty nicely. Time for a proper ride

Nearly mayhem time, so dug this out of the shed, pumped some air into the tyres and took it for a quick blast.

back end was wobbling about like a wibbly thing. torqued up the pivots and it felt much better. Rear travel is....limited.... but didn't feel too bad. Considering that the shock hasn't been maintained for best part of a decade it felt decent. Forks would benefit from a once over but everything felt as it should.

Proper test at the weekend hopefully.

Waiting with baited breath for a positive ride report - let’s hope it was worth the wait !
