Anyway i was just thinking today how that cruise ship disaster over in italy had turned into a joke faster than most disasters...

i find it interesting how no matter what the incident there is always a cool down period, then someone breaks the silence and it turns into a wave of sick jokes.

Not that I don't get the analogy about tomorrow's chip wrappers, and all...

But all the same, I suspect none, here, make their living in the style of Frankie Boyle. I just think there's something a little tawdry about wise cracks about something so soon, presumably just for the delectation of a few forum readers.

I'm sure plenty wanted to be the cool kid at school, but there's only so many that can pull of edgy comedy - and this ain't it.

Suffice to say there are plenty of historical figures who were labelled terrorists and now rightly hailed as heroic freedom fighters.

Sometimes perspective and sometimes the spoils of victory.

All the same - there's a lot to be said, historically, or otherwise, about how and who such figures target, in their "fight for freedom and against oppression"...

ps I love Franky, great British comedy at it's best. But alas British people will have to give up their sense of humor it seems, what's next our language ! The pork pie........will there be nothing left but underground meeting places where flat caps, string vests and the knotted hanky will be the secret societies only way of recognizing a brother ! Too many PC witch hunts in this country.

That's Frankie - and I'm sure he'd really appreciate being thought of as British.

And the way I see it, nobody is being asked or expected to give up any sense of humour - just there's a time and a place, and unless you make your career by means of edgy comedy, is it such a sterling example of wit, to make light of something like this, so soon, purely for bit of being too cool for school in an internet forum?
