Hi All,
After reading on this forum about others finding frames; I've just acquired one which was destined for a skip.
It has previously been used on a turbo trainer.
Can anyone give me any pointers as to its make ? It is pretty light & I'm guessing (from the rear stays) that it is from the 1950s, though I may well be wrong. It looks as if it has a distinct letter 'F' above the top of the seat stay.
It has been heavily (and crudely) hand-painted; is there any 'preferential' method of removing paint in such a way that I might find find clues to the identity underneath ? Or should I just get it sand-blasted ?
My missus will kill me !!! - I said that I wouldn't be getting any more frames/bikes - about 5 bikes ago !
Any advice/ideas of what to do with this frame most gratefully received. Luckily, both the handlebar & seat post aren't stuck.
I'll be quite happy to hear its cr*p, that way, I'd have no qualms about bunging it back in the skip. Please let me know if it is 'rubbish' - it'd make it easer to dispose of it. Handlebars on it are pretty good, though.
Thank you !
